Local student places first at PSIA event
Gerald Clark of Sherman’s Montessori Academy of North Texas recently placed first in the state in the fourth grade Maps, Charts and Graphs event at the Private Schools Interscholastic Association academic competition.Clark previously placed first at the district meet in Denton before advancing to the state competition at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. PSIA is the private school and home school equivalent of UIL and consists of two classes, A and AA. He won the competition in Class A, which is comprised of students from 120 other Texas schools.
He is the son of Bryon Clark and Margaret Avard and grandson of Bonnie and Steve Avard, all of Sherman, and grandson of Mary Masters and Robert Clark of Centerville, Iowa.
