SHERMAN, Tex. — One local school administrator took a pie to the face Tuesday for her students. Angela Magers, director of the Montessori Academy Of North Texas, got creamed by about a dozen pre-kindergarten students, all in the name of early literacy.

Magers says the students set a goal to read 1,000 pages in under 60 days. They reached that goal, and got the sweet reward pf pelting Magers with pie.

“Whatever it takes for early literacy, it’s the foundation of life, and so if this is what inspires them, then I’ll be a participant every time,” Mrs. Magers says.

The kids say they had blast with the event. Some threw from a distance, and others ran close-up, smashing whipped cream in her face and hair.
