Practical Life is the focus on "real life" activities and skills, requiring use and refinement of fine motor skills, concentration and focus, and finishing the task. Practical life includes ground rules, grace and courtesy, control of movement, care of the environment, and personal care. Students learn to open, shut, carry, pour, peal, cut, wash, polish, scrub, sweep. In addition, children learn the use of buttons, zippers, snaps, ties, and latches.
