Language Skill Development one of the most important goals of education. Young children have a natural ability to learn language skills that diminishes as they grow older. Vocabulary enrichment activities enable children to classify the environment, enlarge their vocabulary and develop communication skills.
Pre-reading activities include vocabulary enrichment, visual discrimination of letters, auditory discrimination of sounds, memory development, and logical thought development.
In order to maximize language skills of reading, writing, the Montessori method introduces concepts through a logical progression: handwriting, beginning phonetic reading, beginning spelling and reading, advanced reading and spelling, and the parts of speech.
